Been busy prepping for my four papers the past two weeks and that explains why I haven't had the time to update my entry on week 13! I'm actually still quite tied up with the preparations for the BIG DAY and there are still so many things I need to do and has yet to be done!!
Still need to:
1) Schedule a meet-up for my sisters, but they are all quite busy with either exams/school/travelling, so I doubt I can find a day to bring them together :(
2) Schedule for wedding day.
3) Scripts for my EMCEES.
4) Childhood montage video + video that comprises of the photos taken during our dating phase
5) D-I-Y Guest Book (Materials bought but no time to start on it yet :( )
6) Download all the suitable songs t
in Chinese for my mommy!)
10) Finalize and decide the gate crashing activities with my sisters! (We already have some evil games in mind!!)
I know it doesn't seem like much I have to do, but considering that the wedding is in 2 weeks and 4 days time, IT IS ALOT I HAVE TO DO! And trust me, you can never trust any man to do anything for you. You will get it when you start planning your own wedding!
Did I also mention 过大礼 is on the coming Sunday??! I really need more time to prepare all of these! *Screams*
Ok, all these rants aside, I know quite a number of you are keen to know about my experience using Rico-A-Mona's service for me and Joey's Wedding. We were actually quite lucky that we chanced upon this shop and decided to settle for it, because we actually almost settled for White Link! Not sure if you heard of White Link, but their selling point is the concept of their indoor studio, since they provide many different themes in the indoor studio. Me and Joey were really attracted to their photo studio at first and almost settled for their package at $3588 (Special price), but we were told that we are only allowed to choose the simpler gown designs, and that if we were to choose the more complex designs, we will have to pay the additional charge depending on which gown we chose. I am assuming that those 'simpler' designs are probably damn ugly one lor.
That was what we got after inquiring about their package during the bridal fair at Marina Square. We did look at a few bridal shops at Marina Square before moving to Tanjong Pagar, where we know that there is a loooonngggg stretch of bridal shops for us to choose from. Rico-a-mona was the FIRST shop we stepped into, and I fell in love with their selections of wedding gowns!
You can also take a look at their selections on their website: http://www.rico-a-mona.com/
This is where you can find them!
I actually wanted to choose a few with fish-tail designs, but those are too body-hugging for me, considering that now I need to choose something comfortable that I can still wear during the wedding. But trust me!! I super love their gowns with the low-back designs, specially designed for ladies who wants to flaunt their skin! (I like to flaunt my back because I have nothing to flaunt infront HAHAHAHA!)
Look at these few stunning pieces they have!
If I can choose any of this and that I can still fit in during the wedding day itself, I sure get them one lor :(! But of course, I still love the pieces I chose to wear on the actual day of the wedding, especially the tiff&co coloured one!
They do have simple designs like the one above too! For ladies who doesn't like too much lace or sequins :)
Or ladies who prefer baby-doll gowns!
For my tea dress, the one that I have to wear during the 敬茶 ceremony, I chose a short baby doll dress that is lightweight and comfortable! Don't want to wear a long dress since I have to kneel and stand up repeatedly. Furthermore, since it is in white, if I have time to spare, I still can take photos at Chinese Garden after that with the sisters and brothers for our wedding! (I did try on the Kua, but it looks too auntie for me so I decided not to wear it hahahaha)
Their original price of the package was at $3788, and I can tell you, we managed to get a really good discount after negotiating and also added a few terms into the package! (I can't disclose how much I actually paid, but it was a really good price!)
So our $3000+ package consisted of:
1) For the bride: 2 Actual Day gowns, 2 Photoshoot gowns together with 1 tea dress.
(You can have more gowns, just pay for the extra charges!) along with accessories to go with the dresses.
2) For the groom: 2 Actual Day Suits, 2 Photoshoot suits, along with bow ties, ties to go with the suits.
3) (Negotiated) 2 Gowns for both mothers, 2 suits for both fathers, and 1 gown for my elder sister.
4) 39 poses that we can choose from the photos taken during the photoshoot.
5) Bedroom photo (The 床头照)
6) Wedding photo album with the 39 photos.
7) Hand Bouquet
8) Corsages for both in-laws
9) Bridal car decoration
10) Make up artiste for actual day and photoshoot.
11) Photographer for photoshoot.
Which was really really quite a lot that they provide for the price we paid! Not to mention their impeccable service, and their patience they had with us, especially when me and Joey was so busy with our schedules, and were often late for our 'appointments' with them. So overall yes, highly recommended by Joey and I!

WEEK 13: Normal
Week 13 was quite smooth for me! Not much nausea, only about 2 out of the 7 days where nausea bugged me, but was feeling really tired and lethargic probably from all the studying.
Attended dear's social night with him on the night after my first paper!
I have actually attended social night once, a couple of years back but as a cadets' date and this time, I am attending as an instructor's date. I must admit that the feeling was rather different!
And it actually felt really nice when Joey started introducing me to his cadets/ colleagues as his 'wife'. OH yes I am already starting to show, but the bump is too small to look pregnant, so I just look fat and swollen. FML. I can't wait to get over this phase and start to really look pregnant. IT IS THE BABY NOT MY BELLY!! :(!
Attending his cadets' social night made me understood why he loves his job, and why he dedicated so much time to his work. Joey's cadets were very close to him, and I'm happy to see that he has earned his cadets' respect by not only guiding them along the way during their service term, but to have also went through shit with them during their outfields. It was heartwarming to see how close the cadets are with Joey, and I was proud of him :)
That was the reason why I mentioned it feels different to be there at the social night as a cadet's date and as an instructor's date.
On Tues after my paper, I joined Joey and his cadets for supper at JB, and got to know more about them!
Now that exams are over, and that I have more time to spend at home and with Joey, I feel grateful that Joey understands how much I need his companion, and always try to be there for me and with me. Even if he were to meet his friends for supper or for a leisure game of poker, he would still bring me along since I had nowhere to go! He also understood that because of his work, the time spent with me had to be comprised, and therefore spent the entire week of his leave staying at home with me, motivating and encouraging me to study. (And occasionally to run errands for me like printing notes and buying bubble tea for me hehehehe!)
In the past, I could have spend all my time working during my free time, and Joey would meet his friends when I was at work. Now, I'm just like a trapped penguin staying at home and doing nothing most of the time, though I try to spend time watching movie, dramas or playing with milo (my pet rabbit)!
Not that I do not want to work, but finding a job right now is tough, especially when I'm pregnant! Who will want to hire a pregnant woman who can't do much shit for 6 months! And since I have no source of income right now, I try to cut down on my expenses, and in order to do that, I have to avoid going out to spend unnecessary money on entertainment or leisure activities, and thus chose to stay at home and do preparation of the wedding, and to pack my tables etc to clear some space for the guests during the wedding day.
Sigh, I can't tell you how much I miss working with my friends! I miss working and meeting new faces, communicating with people (clients & customers) etc, and miss being able to spend money. (By spending money, I don't mean on luxurious brands but rather things that I need.) If I'm still working I would probably be stocking up clothes for baby Tristan, buying lots of toys for Milo, and occasionally spoiling myself by buying macaroons or going for facial/ manicure/ pedicure.
Even though hubby and mum is supporting me right now, it just doesn't feel right for me to spend their money even if I were to just spend money on necessities like my meals or for seeing doctor when I'm sick. I just didn't like the idea of taking money from someone else other than myself. So yes, I really do miss working and having a source of income!
Can't wait to get back in shape after giving birth, and I'm giving myself only one month after my confinement to get my shape back!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like I mentioned, nausea has subsided like FINALLY YES!! But what is bugging my body now is my screwed up digestive system. I can't get my stomach to decide what it wants!! I always either end up with diarrhea, or constipation OR wind in my tummy. It gets worse when I can't fart or shit because the pain is just horrible :( All I can do it just roll around in bed and try and feel better since I can't take any meds.
And to make things worse, I caught a flu from Joey and I was down with sore throat, cough, runny rose and slight fever for the past few days. Went to see a doctor on Sunday, but I'm still trying to recover from the symptoms. Please let me feel better before the weekends arrive! I still need the energy to complete the preparations for the wedding :(
Baby Bump at week 13:
And this week, when I was taking the train, some young chap stood up and gave his seat to me HAHAHAHAHAHAA.
Don't ask me why my baby bump is so obvious at week 13! I have no idea either, and no I'm not carrying twins! I guess it is probably a combination of fats and the baby lololol.
I also heard that it varies amongst individuals, and it also depends on how ur uterus is situated. Some ladies' womb extend inwards, and some extend outwards. I am probably the second type which is why I'm showing much sooner than other moms to be at week 13.
AIYA. Just take it as I'm just fat la! (Already gained 4kg to date!)
OKAY, more updates to come! Now I need to go back to the preparation!
Still need to:
